Mobile.de GmbH is a German e-commerce platform that sells cars for businesses and consumers. With customers from all over Europe, the site is the largest automotive platform in Germany.
Mobile.de GmbH's history:
-Mobile.de was founded in Hamburg in 1996 by its founders Vijay Sapre. At first the innovative company focused on online business services for a car dealership in Hamburg.
-At the end of 1999, Mobile.de received a capital injection from Granville Baird CAPItal Partners, a British private equity firm, and the business began to expand.
-Mobile.de made its first profit only in June 2001.
-In April 2004, Mobile.de was acquired by ebay and moved its headquarters to Berlin in 2005.
-September 2006, Mobile.de and eBay Motors on the vehicle for the parts and accessories segment integration.
-In 2013, Mobile.de launched its new car business and made a factory subscription and manufacturer inventory car business.
-In September 2015, Mobile.de acquired Motor-Talk, the largest online automotive social platform in Europe, hoping to provide additional information services to platform customers.
-Since August 2017, Mobile.de offers selected car dealers or advertising for private car owners, engaging in a C2C business and charging fees.
