Microsoft officially launched the new office application Microsoft Teams at the Office launch event on November 2, 2016. It offers a complete online meeting solution, a powerful team work center that integrates chat, meetings, calls, files, and applications into a unified shared workspace.

Microsoft Teams allows users to communicate and share files instantly, and users can create channels as needed, such as a channel for design teams. The second feature is called Fun Picker, which allows users to search for GIFs and share them within the app. Microsoft Teams is closely tied to Microsoft's Office 365 service and applications such as OneDrive, which integrates many office applications. Within the app, users can create new word documents, use Skype for business meetings or share files directly from OneDrive. In addition, Microsoft Teams has a posting feature that allows users to post back in a posting interface, as well as to invite colleagues to discuss on a particular floor. In addition, Microsoft Teams also allows users to make direct video calls.

These calls do not show up in team conversations. Fifthly, upload files from computers or cloud storage accounts, share files with team members, and allow multiple people to collaborate on editing files. Links can also be shared or sent to members outside the organization via SharePoint.
