7-Eleven is a multinational convenience store chain group founded in 1927 as Southern Ice Company in Dallas, U.S.A. Tote'm Stores, the company's previous name from 1928 to 1946, was reformed in 2005 as a subsidiary of 7-Eleven Japan when that company's Japanese subsidiary, Ito-Yokado, bought 70% of the business's shares in that year. 7&I Holdings in Japan currently holds the brand ownership of 7-Eleven.
